The Arizona Diamondbacks and Willie Bloomquist have reached a two-year, $3.8 million deal, according to sources close to CBSSports.com, as reported by Scott Miller.
The infielder/outfielder had declined a $1.1 million mutual option last week. Bloomquist hit .266/.317/.340 with the 2011 National League West Division winners.

In a Tweet by Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com, he reports that right-handed pitcher Armando Galarraga has been designated for assignment. The 29-year-old was 3-4 with a 5.91 ERA in 8 starts for the Diamondbacks this season.

The Washington Nationals are looking to strengthen their bench, according to a baseball source close to MLB.com’s Bill Ladson. Among those that the Nationals are interested in, include Willie Bloomquist, Aaron Miles and Miguel Cairo.
Ladson later adds that Washington had interest in Geoff Blum, but he is supposedly close to signing with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
