The Florida Marlins are looking to have a small payroll increase for 2011, according to MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro. The team operated with $47 million for 2010 and they are considering a small bump to between $48-50 million for 2011.

Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald tweets that the Florida Marlins have designated right-handed relief pitcher Jose Veras for assignment.
In other moves, the Marlins called up Chris Leroux, optioned Emilio Bonifacio to Triple-A and took outfielder Brett Carroll off the disabled list.
