The Chicago White Sox have requested unconditional release waivers on right handed pitcher Brian Bruney according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com. He was designated for assignment earlier this month.
Bruney was 1-0 with a 6.86 ERA in 19.2 innings throughout 23 games for the White Sox in 2011.

Chicago White Sox have agreed on a deal with right handed pitcher Brian Bruney, according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post.
The 28-year old, was 1-2 with 7.64 ERA in 17 and 2/3 innings throughout 19 appearances with the Nationals in 2010.
