    According to Ben Shpigel of the New York Times, the Yankees have designated Randy Winn for assignment to make room for Curtis Granderson. Winn, 36, signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Yankees in January. He was hitting .213/.300/.295 in 29 games with the Yankees in 2010.
